GummiHz, real name Alex Tsotsos is a natural born dj and diverse music producer. Alex is the man behind the imprints Claap, C-EDITS and Raw Instinct. Since his debut in his mid twenties, he has released music with Mobilee records, Ibadan records, Wolf + Lamb, Realtone records, Earthrumental music, Defected records, Fabric and Tommy Boy! A discography which includes the debut album “Sleepless nights” (Mobilee), the vinyl only “Long Player 1” (C-EDITS) and mix compilations such as “Back 2 back vol.2” (Mobilee) and “GummiHz presents Alles Claap vol.1” (Claap).

A Berlin resident since a few years Alex plays regularly at various clubs in the city, while having also participated in Loveparade 2006! A dj with more than 20 years of experience, he has brought his ‘elastic frequencies’ to venues all around the world! From North to South America, Europe and all the way to Asia! Prior to moving to Berlin, Alex lived for a decade in London, experiencing both the electronic music explosion during the mid 90s in the UK as well as the famous summer of love in ’98.

“A man of exquisite taste”, says Seth Troxler, Alex is giving back to the underground music scene for which he is so passionate about. In 2010, he founded record label Claap. An outlet for his own productions, along with music by new talented producers and remixes from well known acts. A catalog that has gained support from Derrick May, Ricardo Villalobos, Sven Vath, Danny Tenaglia, Luciano and Ellen Alien to name a few! Soon after, followed the launch of the labels C-EDITS and Raw Instinct.

C-EDITS received world wide notoriety since its’ first release! An edit of the classic 90s anthem “So in love with you” by Duke Ellington. Soon after, came a C-EDITS cover of “Fade to grey” (Visage) on Wolf + Lamb. Making Alex part of a crew of artists like Nicholas Jaar, Seth Troxler, Baby Prince and Soulclap.

Raw Instinct is a series of club tools initially produced by Alex solely for his dj sets. The vinyl only series pays homage to the sound and the clubs that inspired him as a teenager. Places like the Sound Factory (New York), The End (London), MOS (London), Space mobile (Thessaloniki) and Cavo Paradiso (Mykonos).

Alex is an avid fan of jazz, disco, soul, latin, folk and any sort of electronic music. Some of his musical influences include Klaus Schulze, Bill Evans, Ricardo Villalobos, Jeff Mills, Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Laurent Garner, The Belleville Three (Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Sanderson) and Vangelis. Alex was recently endorsed by Detroit’s legendary Transmat records, proving to be a never ending source of quality underground dance music. It’s in his frequencies!
